Jim Marte is a physician assistant specializing in orthopedic surgery at Graybill Medical Group’s Escondido office, where he has practiced under the supervision of Dr. Jared Brummel since 2016. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Occidental College and completed a certificate program in orthopedic technology at Grossmont College before going on to earn his Master’s in Physician Assistant Practice from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. His prior clinical experience spans occupational medicine, neurosurgery, and orthopedics, spine, sports medicine, and trauma surgery. Certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants, Jim provides care including shoulder and knee injections and the application of splints, casts, and braces. With over two decades in practice, he has long been drawn to the intersection of design, engineering, and medical science that orthopedics offers, and is a strong advocate for patient education and collaborative decision-making so patients feel empowered in choosing their treatment path.
