Dr. Veena Prabhakar is a board certified family physician with more than 20 years of experience in North County San Diego. As a family doctor, she strives to provide individualized, exceptional care for patients of all ages.

Dr. Prabhakar received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1993. She received her Osteopathic Medical Degree from Western University of Health Sciences (Pomona, California) in 1998. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Glendale Adventist Medical Center (Glendale, CA), in 2001, where she served as Chief Resident. She is a long-standing member of the American Osteopathic Association and the San Diego Medical Society. She has twice been named a “San Diego Top Doctor” by San Diego Magazine (2014, 2017) and was the recipient of the 1993 NCAA and Arthur Ashe National Leadership and Sportsmanship Award for tennis, and was captain of the UC Berkeley Women’s Varsity Tennis Team from 1991-1993. She enjoys tennis, live music, great food, and spending time with her husband and three daughters.
