Are
fees charged for missed Appointments?
Our physicians want to be available for your needs. Unfortunately when
a patient doesn’t show for their scheduled appointment,
another patient loses an opportunity to be seen. So if you
aren’t able to make your appointment, please call us before
5:00PM on the business day prior to your appointment. Otherwise
a fee of $25.00 will be billed. The policy enables us to better utilize
available appointments for our patients in need of medical care.
Are copays and other
charges due at time of
service?
Copayment is expected at the time of service. Services provided which
are not a covered benefit of your health plan will be your financial
responsibility.
How do I get
my
prescription refilled?
If you need a prescription refilled please plan ahead. Call your
pharmacy to request a refill three working days in advance. If you
already have refills authorized, the pharmacist will be able to fill
your prescription quickly. If you do not have refills then the
pharmacist will notify our office. It will take three working days to
complete the authorization for your prescription and inform the
pharmacy. Mail order prescriptions will also need 3 working days to
complete. The mail order prescription must be mailed by you, and can
not be called in to the pharmacy.
When will I
know my
test results?
Needing a medical question or laboratory/radiology test result? Our
office phone operators are more than happy to route your call to the
appropriate person or department or take a message. The highest volume
of calls is received on Monday. If possible we would greatly appreciate
avoiding calling on a Monday. Because our medical staff is attending to
patients, they may not be available to answer phone calls. Our policy
regarding phone calls is as follows: a call left for our nurse will be
returned within 24 hours depending on the urgency of the call. Phone
calls regarding laboratory or x-ray results will be returned within 24
hours. To reach the nurse please call the main number then press 'zero'
for the operator.

How will I be
notified about my HMO
Referral Authorization?
Graybill participates in the Sharp Community Medical Group (SCMG) IPA.
SCMG is a large physician network which negotiates with the HMO's on
behalf of Graybill. Since November 2000, Graybill has been a part of
the SCMG Network consisting of over 1000 physicians. In the event that
you may need a referral to see an outside physician or service, an
authorization request will be initiated by your medical provider. The
request will be reviewed by the utilization management committee. An
approved authorization will be sent to you and to the specialist for
the service being authorized. This process takes 7 - 10 working days.
If you have not received notification after 10 working days please call
Referral/Case Management Department directly at 760.291.6615.
All Other
Insurances….
Graybill Medical Group physicians are contracted with many Insurances
and Medicare. If you have a concern about your physician being a
provider on your insurance plan please feel free to phone our Patient
Liaisons at 760.291.6705 or 760.291.6706.
If you are waiting for a referral to a specialist and it is not an HMO
insurance plan please feel free to phone the business office at
760.291.6621. All insurances respond to authorizations at different
time frames. We appreciate your patience.
What do I need to do
to get my medical
records?
If you are coming from another Medical Group or Doctor's office you can
request your records be sent here. A signed medical release by you will
initiate that a copy of your records be sent. The form will need your
signature and to be mailed to your previous physician's office. If you
are already an existing Graybill patient and an outside physician is
requesting your records a signed release is also needed. On the average
most facilities require about 10 working days to have the records
copied and sent. Any questions ask to speak to our Medical Records
Department:
